MIA, but now I'm back!

Well been a while since I've blogged! 3 weeks to be precise. As everyone can understand, Christmas time is a hectic time & I really didn't have time to write anything. But now I'm back and hopefully will have regular posts. Christmas was spent at our place. Kids were spoilt as and we all had a wonderful day. I FINALLY got the perfume I've wanted for a long time, Hynose by Lancome, mmmm smells delish =) Kids got all the big stuff from Santa this year. Swing set, bikes, pool, table & chairs, skateboard & heaps more. The day went perfectly and ended spending time having dinner at our best friends mum & dads place. Couldn't of asked for a better day! So now the next big thing is New Years Eve tomorrow night. We're having a bunch of good friends around for  BBQ and drinks. Will be nice to relax and not worry about getting home! So for now this will be short and sweet as I have to duck out and do the grocery shopping. Be sure to check back, tonight I will post some of my photography I have shot over the past 3 weeks, so excited to share my new work =)

My babies enjoying being outside now the rain has finally cleared!!

Point & Shoot 6-12-2010

Whoa, what a weekend! I'm still feeling tired as anything from such a long exhausting weekend. Started off by travelling to Melbourne ( 4 hours away ) bright and early Saturday morning. Got to Melbourne had a look at a few car yards ( looking for a second car ) then it was off to the Zoo to meet up with my sister. Was a long hot day at the Zoo, although I think I was the only one really enjoying myself, ha ha. Kids did love seeing all the different animals and wandering around but in the end the scorching sun was too much for the little munchkins, so off to the DFO we went in the nice air conditioned centre and did a little retail therapy. Saturday night we spent the night in a not-so-nice motel ( my bad, I didn't choose a very nice place =( but it was ok I guess for the night ) next time I'll spend the extra whatever it costs and stay in the city. Main thing was the kids loved playing around the room, was an adventure for them because it's the first time they have stayed in a motel lol yes not that exciting but for them it was. Sunday we were up bright and early as we had a work family function to go to, there were rides, craft activities, reptiles, animals, food, icecreams and lots more, best thing was... all FREE!! The kids both received a present each, Aaliyah a Fisher Price cash register and Jesse a guitar that plays real music. They had an absolute ball & loved watching Diego & Dora perform on stage =) At the end of the day we drove the 4 hours back to our home town, we couldn't wait to get home. Here's a few pics from our awesome weekend away...

Christmas is near!!

And I'm beyond excited!! This year we have defnitely spent more than we can afford but I would rather miss out on "things" for myself and give my kids the best christmas. I know kids love anything you get them even if it's not much. But this year I decided to go all out and buy all the big things at once, so far theres a swing set, trampoline, bikes and so much more. I just really wanted to get all the outdoor toys and stuff out of the way so my kids can enjoy more time out the backyard other than always going to the park. ( Park is fun but sometimes I'd rather stay home and enjoy our nice backyard.) Today being the 1st of  December, it's always been a tradition to put the tree up on this day not before and not after ALWAYS on the 1st ( mum used to say it was bad luck putting it up before the 1st but yeah each to their own) So tonight after dinner we put the tree up with the help of the munchkins. Heres a couple of pics of my darlings putting decorations on the tree.

Love the last pic, just too cute. =)

Point & Shoot 29-11-2010

Weekends go by too fast! Our weekend was spent mainly indoors due to non stop rain! Sunday morning though we managed to get out early in the morning to our local markets ( no rain while we were there thank heavens!) we bought Jesse his first fishing rod, he was so excited & cant wait to test out his new rod =)

My point & shoot this week is little Miss Aaliyah waking me up saturday morning with this gorgeous face...
She's so precious, loves cuddles with mummy early in the morning. And lucky for me I had my camera sitting on the bedside table. Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

My princess.

The next best thing.

I've been searching high and low for a maxi dress. For me its hard, no bust and skinny as a rake, it's hard to find a flattering maxi dress or any dress for that matter. Until stumbled across this long skirt! Its so comfy to wear and it makes me look bigger than I actually am (which i LOVE) I bought this little bargain at Tempt for a whopping $14.95! Hopefully I will be able to find a few more gorgeous flowy skirts like this one =)

Polly Dolly 18-11-2010

Polly Dolly 18-11-2010

Thursdays Polly Dolly Challenge this week is:
Jumpsuits
The days are getting warmer, so perfect weather to wear a gorgeous little jumpsuit like this one above. My dolly would wear this outfit for a relaxing day at the beach or cafe. I especially love the little beach bag so cute! Got my trashy gossip magazine to keep my dolly occupied whilst relaxing by the water. And forget the all important sunscreen to ward off yukky sunburn.

Pop over to Danimeza to check out not only her cute little outfit but other Polly Dolly lovers too!

My first storyboard.

Been playing around with Photoshop Elements tonight.
For the first time I made my own storyboard template!!
Just a simple 3 pic white border one.

Added some cute pics of my daughter, she was bout 10 months old here.
Just a little proud of my first attempt at a template!

Playing Around.

Got a little bored this arvo while the kids were happily playing tea parties together, so I decided to play around with the design of my blog. Not happy still so there will be more changes and different look, but for now I gotta go cook dinner!
Stay tuned for my new "look".

Polly Dolly 11-11-2010

Polly Dolly 11-11-2010
Thursdays Polly Dolly Challenge this week over at the wonderful/creative Danimezza is all about
asymmetrical
I decided to do a red theme seeing how today is Remembrance Day and inspiration from the gorgeous poppy flower. Not sure if the heels would necessarily go with the dress but they are too gorgeous not to give it a go. Top off the look with some fanger eyelashes and nude lips. Red nail polish for the toes and fingernails, nothing sexier than manicured nails with a fiery red colour! Lastly that clutch, oh that clutch! I want one for myself! $95 for a clutch... hmm maybe one day I'd splurge and buy myself this gorgeous must have accessory.

On another note......

Well I have been MIA for the past week. I have been busy with Tafe and motherly duties and to be honest haven't been very enthusiastic about blogging. I'm pretty sure readers don't want to read about my depressing moments lately, hence why I've been so quiet. But things are looking up, I'm feeling positively content and have some new ideas about what to write each week! There's plenty of mum blogs out there that share photos, recipes and what not and I'll be following close behind. Why not share what I love doing. Photography, cooking and being a Mum! ( Not necessarily in that order!) So bare with me as I get my mojo back and start blogging more. =)

Polly Dolly 5-11-2010

Polly Dolly 5-11-2010
Polly Dolly challenge this week is all about the beautiful bump.
Ive chosen a casual look, I hated dressing up while pregnant because when your belly is a bit bigger and your already feeling uncomfortable you dont want to be wearing something you dont feel good and relaxed in. I was lucky enough to be able to wear all my jeans still right up to the day I gave birth thanks to pants extenders! I thought the flowery top was just gorgeous and beautiful top for spring. The flowy cardi is perfect for when its cool and looks so comphy! Bio-oil to ward off the dreaded stretchmarks. The baby car seat I thought was absolutely adorable! Would of loved to have something like that for my babies. So many nice baby products out now that werent out when I was pregnant, makes me very clucky. I miss being pregnant even more doing this challenge looking at all the cute clothes I could wear!

5 years!

Today is my sons 5th birthday. I cannot believe how quick these past 5 years have flown by, his 1st birthday is still fresh in my mind like it only happened yesterday. Ive been feeling quiet emotional today, trying not to cry. I know that probably sounds a bit overboard but just the fact he is no longer my baby boy gives me a lump in my throat & teary eyes. The day I gave birth to Jesse was the best day of my life. I felt my life really started that day, he has brought so much joy & love into my life. Today Mr J went off to Pre-school and I went back in to give all the kids cupcakes I baked the night before so everyone could sing Happy Birthday to Jesse. He loved it and so did all his kinder friends =) Now he's busy playing with all his new pressies & I have a chocolate cake baking in the oven! Here is a little poem I wrote to Jesse in his birthday card...

My baby, my son, my precious prince
Came into this world 5 years ago and loved ever since
A smile so big with such happiness and joy
The pride I have, to have such a good little boy.
To love someone so much, I never knew I could
The things I do for you, for no one else I would
I wish I could be with you every second of the day
but I can't be selfish, things just can't go my way
I loved you from the very start,
You stole my breath & embraced my heart.
Happy 5th Birthday my sweet little boy
Hope your day is filled with lots of fun & joy.
Love Always Mummy, Daddy & Aaliyah xoxo

Birthday Party

Today has just flown by! We had Mr J's 5th Birthday party today at a local indoor playcentre, he had an absolute ball and was very spoilt. I think his favourite pressie was a superman suit, he insisted he put it on at the playcentre and hasnt take it off since. Here's a few pics from his party. The birthday boy isnt 5 until thursday so he hasn't recieved mummy and daddys presents yet =)
 Birthday cake.

My favourite pic, he was so happy!

The weekend!

The weekend is almost here, well for me weekends start on a Friday because there's no kinder, daycare, tafe or any other thing we have planned. Fridays are our sleep in & relax for the morning kind of day. By lunch time I do have the house work done and have myself & the kids dressed but there's no pressure to be ready on time, hence why I love Friday's!
Our plans for the weekend are Saturday: We have our son's 5th birthday party (his birthday isn't till the 4th Nov) at an indoor play centre with 15 of his little buddies. I'm so excited for him, he hasn't stopped talking about it for weeks now. Its costing me an arm & a leg to have a party there plus his cake, a choc marble mudcake with superman design. But hey they only turn 5 once hey. I'll make sure I post some pics of his party so keep an eye out for that post later in the weekend.
Sunday: Think we will head off to the local markets bright and early and might even have a picnic lunch if the weather stays nice! Today's a nice 27 degrees with a slight breeze, just beautiful.

Here's a pic of Mr J at only 5 days old. Oh brings tears to my eyes, perfect is an understatement of how perfect he really was as a baby.

Polly Dolly 28-Oct-10

Polly Dolly 28-Oct-10
Thursday means two things for me shopping in reality & pretend shopping on Polyvore!! haha This weeks Polly Dolly challenge over at Danimezza is all about LACE. I'll quickly run through my look this week. Firstly you have the gorgeous lace top this is how I would wear lace, I love the flowy sleeves! My looks are always pretty much the same, I cant help but go for the skinny jeans and nice top look. I couldn't choose between the grey heels or the black so I chose both =) Threw in the pink hand bag for a bit of colour & that hairstyle I think would look stunning to top off the outfit.
If you would like to join in pop over to Danimezza & give it a go =)

Polly Dolly Challenge

Polly Dolly Challenge
That time of the week again over at Danimezza, Polly Challenge this week is about your dream bag plus your style.
I got a little greedy & threw in 2 bags there, the first dream bag would have to be the Chanel flap bag. This bag is sophisticated & simply gorgeous. One day I will own one when I'm a famous photographer ( haha yer right, in my dreams!) The second dream bag is the Louis Vuitton suitcase. The love for louis started when I became infatuated with The Newlywed series with Jessica Simpson & Nick Lachey. Pretty sad actually I mainly became infatuated with Louis because Jessica Simpson was and I idolised her lol. I grew up of course ;)
A couple of relaxed looks there, t-shirt or singlet with skinny jeans, flats and stud earrings. It's basically what I wear on a day to day basis. So i consider it mystyle. What i would love to include in my style ( but cant because I cut my hair short ) are the gorgeous hair braids especially the one above, so chic! I never had enough hair to do that anyway when I did have long hair because my hair is thin! Last but not least is the Angus & Julia Stone album- Down the Way, I listen to this album daily and just love it. Gorgeous relaxing music.
If you would like to Join in the Polly Dolly Challenge every week hop over to Danimezza =)

Next Year is the one.

Next year is the year I finally start my photography studies! I enrolled into a full time Cert 4 course at Tafe today and then I will do the Diploma the following year. I'm beyond excited and so thrilled I got into it. The only downside is 3 full days away from my darlings =( Makes me anxious thinking about it but I know it's time I got the ball rolling on what I want to do and in the end it will benefit my kids. Plus I'll have myself booked in for a few workshops down in Melbourne during next year, I'm just a sponge wanting to absorb as much information as I can, keen to learn. So yeah, that's my exciting news for this week. =)

10 things I love right now...

My daughters love for jewellery & accessories, 16 months old isn’t too early for her to start right?

My son finally at 5 years of age can finally blow his nose! Yes its taken 5 years for him to blow his nose, he would only sniff, this is a huge thing for me right now!
Garlic Prawns. Served on jasmine rice... mmm... had the delight of trying this dish for the first time whilst out for dinner with some friends. The best meal I’ve had out in a long time. Have been craving it ever since i left the restaurant!
Chocolate spiders. I am unfortunately a chocoholic it’s just one thing i cannot give up. Heard of chocolate spiders? Dry Noodles, bar of chocolate & peanut butter melted and mixed together then refrigerated... delish!
Adobe lightroom. I love learning new tricks found a couple this week to tweak my photos the more subtle way. I definitely need to learn not to make my pics so “overdone” . practice makes perfect.
Angus & Julia Stone. Their music makes me relaxed and is the best album to listen to whilst doing housework.
My bridesmaid dress.  I’m going to be a bridesmaid in my friend’s wedding next year and I can’t wait!! Tried my dress on the other night and fell in love instantly, gives me curves i don’t even have! Haha if that makes sense?
no pic of the bridesmaid dress yet.
My short hair.  Not trying to sound vain but it feels so nice not to stress about spending so long doing my hair in the morning, with my fantastic hair straightner only takes me 5 mins to do a nice style. All it needs now is another colour in it, dark brown as usual.
Owls. For some reason I’m just really into owls at the moment, whether its jewellery, ornaments or just anything with an owl on it. Beautiful creatures they are, even though I never have seen one in person =\
White vintage furniture. Oh my just looking through Google makes me want it even more. I find it more charming than plain furniture, more character.

I'm heading out for a lunch date tomorrow, garlic prawns here I come!! =)

Point & Shoot 19-10-10

Yesterday we made a day trip to Melbourne which is bout 4 hours from where we live, to visit my sister and her 3 adorable kids. Mr J is just in awe of his cousins and was pretty upset ( hysterical actually) when we had to leave. Broke my heart, the poor boy loves his cousins so much and has alot of fun when we go to visit them. Managed to capture a cute pic of them with my point & shoot camera. Mr B is two weeks younger than Mr J, Miss T is 7 years, Miss K is 2 and a bit =)
Love the pic below, I told the kids to pull a funny face and this is what I got. I love that Miss A did it too!

Our Weekend

The weekend has started in torrential rain, Our towns streams and rivers have burst their banks and flooding has begun, more torrential rain has been predicted for tomorrow so looks like another day of keeping indoors. And to stop myself & the kids from going insane from boredom from staying home think we will head to the indoor playcentre, Fingers crossed the rest of the town wont have the same idea =) ( haha yer right, in my dreams)
The only major plan this weekend is a day trip to Melbourne on Sunday to visit my sister and my 2 nieces and nephew! Cant wait, its been months since we have seen them and I miss them like crazy. Other exciting thing, getting a new desk tomorrow, a thrifty buy from a friend for $40 its gorgeous although I want to put new handles on it, its going to be perfect to sit at and hopefully start to help me be more organised as it has shelves I can store books, diary & other bits and pieces =) I'll take a pic once its set up looking pretty.  Hope everyone has a lovely weekend whether its rain. hail or for the lucky ones SUNSHINE!

Polly Dolly Challenge

Polly Dolly Challenge

This weeks Polly Dolly Challenge over at Danimezza is the Mini Skirt. I also went for the casual look, the items I chose aren't exactly matchy matchy but I know it's what id find comfortable wearing ( apart from the hat) but i know the hat would look nice but I'm the type of person where i don't think i look good in a hat haha.
The lose fitting shirt with bangles would look so stylish =) All in all I just think its comfort I went with this look. And those earrings.... oh my would I love a pair!!
If you would like to Join in the fun pop over to Danimezza and give it go, can guarantee you will get addicted, so much fun if you like creating looks whether your stylish or not =)

Self Portrait

Decided to join in the self portrait challenge over at Tinniegirl. I loved to join in on other peoples ideas something fun to do and share. My pic below is before I went to my friends place for a couple of cocktails over the weekend. Me with my new short hair! Havent had my hair short since I was pregnant with Mr J 5 years ago and lets just say that short haircut wasnt flattering at all =\ I am liking it so much more this time around.
